How to Clean and Change a KitchenAid Dishwasher Filter

KitchenAid dishwashers use a dual filtration system to prevent dirt, grime and food particles from flowing into the drain and clogging household pipes. The top screen catches large chunks, and the fine filter underneath absorbs finer particles and grease. The filters should be cleaned at least once a week to help the dishwasher drain properly. This basic maintenance takes less than 15 minutes.

Push the rack back inside the appliance and raise the door to close.
