The Removal of a Drain Filter on the Whirlpool DU800DWGX1

The Whirlpool DU800DWGX1 dishwasher catches food particles in a removable perforated strainer built into the bottom of the appliance. The part helps prevent clogged drains and keeps the Whirlpool running smoothly. If you notice that the DU800DWGX1 isn't draining normally or at all, check the strainer for clogs, cleaning the part if necessary. No tools are needed to remove the drain filter.

      Close and latch the door on the DU800DWGX1 to finsih any wash cyle in progress.

      Open and lower the door to pull the bottom rack out of the appliance.

      Lift the oval screen from the bottom of the dishwasher. The screen is in the back of the appliance.

      Dump any food and debris out of the drain filter into a trash can. Rinse the filter in cold water and replace.
