How to Clean the Lower Spray Arm on a Frigidaire Dishwasher

Many Frigidaire dishwashers have both an upper and a lower spray arm for better cleaning of the dishes in both racks. However, if the dishes, particularly those on the bottom rack, seem less clean, if detergent remains in the dispenser or is found on the bottom of the tub, or if the dishwasher begins to smell bad, you may need to clean the lower spray arm.

Instructions

    • 1

Twist the cylinder-shaped filter on the bottom of the Frigidaire dishwasher tub counterclockwise and lift it out.

    • 2

Grab the bottom spray arm in the center and pull straight out to remove.

    • 3

Hold the spray arm under running water and clean gently with a soft brush.

    • 4

Use a toothpick to gently remove any stubborn debris caught inside the spray arm jets. Use a cloth dipped in vinegar to clean the spray arm if hard water has caused mineral deposits to build up on the spray arm jets.

    • 5

Wipe the spray arm with a dry cloth. Reposition the arm in the dishwasher, turning it clockwise and pushing down until it is secure.
