How to Clean a GE GLD4450N10CS Dishwasher

A General Electric GLD4450N10CS dishwasher cleans itself every time you do a load of dishes. However, there are other parts of the dishwasher, such as the door, control panel and air gap, that don't get clean and require manual cleaning. The GLD4450N10CS model has a CleanSteel door, which may become scratched and damaged if you don't use the right cleaning materials.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the door on your GE dishwasher. Clean the inside and outside of the door with a clean, soft damp cloth.

    • 2

Clean the control panel with the lightly dampened cloth. Wipe the inside and outside of the door, including the control panel, with a dry, soft cloth.

    • 3

Close the dishwasher door then locate the air gap on the top of the dishwasher or near the sink.

    • 4

Remove the chrome cover from the air gap then unscrew the plastic cap and pull it off.

    • 5

Use a toothpick to remove any debris or food particles that are clogging the air gap. Reinstall the plastic cap by turning then locking it into position. Replace the chrome cover over the air gap.

    • 6

Run a normal cycle with dishes to clean the rest of the dishwasher internally.
