How to Remove the Door Vent on a Whirlpool Dishwasher

To remove the door vent, you must first remove the control panel component installed on the door itself.

      Remove the six screws affixing the dishwasher control panel to the front of the dishwasher door. These screws can be removed with a flathead screwdriver.

      Hold the control panel with one hand and gently lower it down, exposing the wiring harness for the panel.

      Unplug the wire connector plugs from the wax motor terminals found on the door vent assembly.

      Loosen the four T-15 Torx screws on the left side of the outer door panel. Do not remove the Torx screws.

      Insert a flathead screwdriver into the slot found at the bottom of the interior vent grille, then rotate the vent grille one-quarter turn using the screwdriver..

      Pull on the vent grille to remove it from the vent assembly.
