How to Remove a Sump Filter Screen on a GE Hotpoint Dishwasher

The sump filter screen in a General Electric Hotpoint dishwasher is a cover over the sump filter assembly located at the bottom center of the dishwasher. The sump filter screen stops bits of food from your dishes from entering the water pump. If your dishwasher floods by filling up with too much water when it runs, then there may be food or other debris caught in the sump filter screen. To solve the problem you can remove the filter screen or replace the part if it's broken.
