Turn off the circuit breaker that supplies electricity to the dishwasher.
Remove the kick plate on the lower front of the dishwasher. The kick plate is secured by screws that you can remove with a nut driver.
Illuminate the space under the dishwasher using a flashlight and locate the drain valve. The drain valve is close to the motor and is connected to the motor via a hose.
Loosen the clamp around the end of the hose connected to the drain valve using a Phillips screwdriver. Pull off the hose from the drain valve.
Pull off the wiring clips from the drain valve's solenoid using a pair of needle-nose pliers. Unfasten the screws that secure the drain valve and solenoid to the drain valve bracket. Remove the old drain valve.
Install the new drain valve and solenoid in the same position as the old one and fasten it to its bracket using the new screws supplied with the drain valve. Clip the wiring clip into the solenoid and reconnect the drain hose and tighten the clamp around its end.
Replace the kick plate and restore power to the dishwasher.
