How to Level a Bosch Dishwasher

Bosch — a manufacturer of home appliances — has been marketing large kitchen appliances in North America since the early 1960s. A Bosch built-in dishwasher can save you a lot of work in the kitchen, automatically washing and drying dishes. For the machine to function and drain properly, it must be leveled upon installation. Perfect front-to-back and side-to-side level of the dishwasher can be accomplished with tools you may already own.

Instructions

  1. Front to Rear

    • 1

Open the dishwasher door. Pull out the bottom rack and remove it from the machine temporarily. Place a small level on the bottom of the dishwasher longitudinally. Close the door.

    • 2

Remove the two retaining screws from the lower front cover of the dishwasher with a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the cover straight out and place it aside.

    • 3

Locate the screw on the bottom of the dishwasher near the center that controls the rear leveler of the machine. Turn the screw clockwise with a flat-blade screwdriver to raise the rear of the dishwasher. Turn the screw counterclockwise to lower the rear of the machine.

    • 4

Open the door and check the level. Ensure the bubble is between the two marks. Turn the adjustment screw as needed to fine-tune the level front to rear.

    Side to Side

    • 5

Place the level on the bottom of the dishwasher crossways. Close the door.

    • 6

Locate the two front levelers on each side of the dishwasher near the floor.

    • 7

Turn the leveler on the low side of the dishwasher to the right with a flat-blade screwdriver to raise that side of the machine. Turn the leveler on the high side of the dishwasher to the left to lower that side.

    • 8

Open the door and check the level. Ensure the bubble is between the two marks. Turn levelers as needed to fine-tune the level side to side.

    • 9

Remove the level from inside the dishwasher, replace the bottom rack and close the door. Replace the lower front cover and tighten the retaining screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
