KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDS24SE BL3 Will Not Turn On

KitchenAid Dishwasher, model KUDS24SE-BL3, has features and functions that almost guarantee clean dishes, but the machine has to turn on first. You have two "Sure-Hold" cup shelves, preventing thin plastic cups from going wayward. KitchenAid also included the "Flex-Basket" silverware basket to accommodate all types of utensils, as well as the "Hydro-Sweep" spray arm to ensure all dishes get a thorough cleansing. If your machine is failing to power on to take advantage of these features, exercise about six troubleshooting steps before you call anyone for service.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the dishwasher door to make sure no dishes or utensils are preventing the door from completely closing. Press firmly on the door when closing it back.

    • 2

Select the cycle, again, to double-check that you are following the correct process. Press a button for the cycle, such as "Soak & Scrub" or "Normal." Press "Start" to begin the cycle.

    • 3

Check to see if the "Child Lock" light is illuminated on the control panel. To turn off child lock, press "Energy Saver Dry" for five seconds and then release the button.

    • 4

Check your home's electrical system. Replace a blown fuse in the fuse box. Turn a tripped circuit breaker back to the "On" position.

    • 5

Check your homes water supply to make sure it is running, by turning on the faucet at the kitchen sink near the dishwasher. Also, check the water supply inlet and valve behind the lower access panel at the bottom of the dishwasher for any disconnected hoses or leaks.

    • 6

Time the dishwasher for about five minutes more, if it does not start after prolonged and heavy usage. The motor automatically deactivates due to overloading and it will reset itself in a few minutes.
