How to Adjust the Rinse Aid Dispenser on a KitchenAid Dishwasher

KitchenAid, manufactured by the Whirlpool Corporation, has a dishwasher with a built-in rinse aid dispenser. It runs during the final rinse cycle and prevents water from leaving spots or stains on your dishes. Depending on your water, hard or soft, you can adjust the rinse aid dispenser to release the appropriate amount of liquid for your dishwasher's needs.

Instructions

    • 1

Open your KitchenAid dishwasher’s door and locate the rinse aid dispenser on the interior side of the door.

    • 2

Turn the dispenser’s cap counterclockwise to remove it.

    • 3

Turn the dial on the dispenser to your desired number. The standard setting is “2" but you can select “1” through “6,” with “6” releasing the most rinse aid per wash. The harder your water, the higher the rinse aid dispenser setting should be.

    • 4

Replace the cap on the dispenser and tighten it by turning it clockwise.
