How to Fix a Bottom Short Door Seal for a GE Dishwasher

General Electric dishwashers have a seal at the bottom of the door, commonly referred to as a short seal, or door wiper gasket. The short seal is designed to prevent water from leaking from the bottom of the dishwasher. The seal, which is constructed of heavy rubber, may break down over time, allowing water to leak from the bottom of the appliance. In this instance, you must remove the old seal and install a new one to restore the dishwasher's watertight seal.
