The Magic Chef Dishwasher Top Rack Is Not Coming Clean

While dishwashers save a lot of work and are generally accepted to be better for the environment than washing by hand, they can be frustrating when they stop cleaning dishes properly. If you're having problems with the top rack of your Magic Chef dishwasher, there are number issues that could be the cause.
  1. Spray Arm

    • Check that the spray arm is properly connected to your dishwasher's top shelf and that it's not being obstructed. If any of your dirty dishes are stopping the spray arm from moving freely, it will be unable to work properly, which could prevent the washer's top shelf from not being cleaned.

    Temperature

    • Run a high temperature wash if the dirt on your dishes is heavily ingrained or old. Washing on a low temperature will not remove stubborn deposits of food and other debris. Although running a high-temperature cycle uses more energy and is therefore worse for the environment and more expensive, it will much more effectively get rid of problem stains.

    Water Inlet

    • Make sure your water inlet valves are properly connected and that they're delivering enough water to your machine. Low water pressure can result in your machine not washing properly. Make sure the taps that supply your machine's water inlet are fully open and that your water pipes are not leaking.

    Drainage

    • If your dishwasher's drainage system isn't working, dirty water will remain in your machine and will be redistributed over the dishes you're washing. Check that waste water is reaching the point at which your machine's drainage tube meets your clean water sewage outlet. You should also remove the plate from the bottom of the inside of your machine to make sure your filter is clean. Always disconnect your machine from the power supply before carrying out any work.
