Using the wrong type of detergent, or detergent that is old or clumped, can cause water to leak out the dishwasher door, as can using too much detergent, since excess suds will result. Switch to a different brand of automatic dishwasher detergent for better results. Close the Frigidaire dishwasher door and push “Rinse Only”, then “Start,” to allow water to dissolve remaining or clumped detergent and drain the water out of the dishwasher.
Rinse aid can be responsible for oversudsing and leaks, especially if you use too much rinse aid. Rinse aid foams easily and can create a leak at the dishwasher door. Clean up rinse aid spills when they occur before starting the dishwasher, and ensure the rinse aid dispenser is latched closed before starting the wash cycle.
A dishwasher door seal can cause a leak, especially if the gasket is split or cracked. Take a good look at the door gasket and clean it with a damp cloth if there is just dirt or debris on the seal. Contact Frigidaire for repair service if the seal seems to be cracked or damaged, and do not use the dishwasher until the door is repaired.
Sometimes if a dishwasher is installed unevenly, water can slosh around inside and leak out the door. If possible, pull the dishwasher out from under the countertop and make adjustments to the dishwasher feet until the unit is level. If accessing or moving the dishwasher is not possible, contact Frigidaire or another service professional for help.
