Kenmore Dishwasher 363 Is Leaking Underneath

The Kenmore 363 dishwasher is an Ultra Wash model with soil and water sensors as well as traditional pots/pans, normal and quick-rinse options. The dishwasher also has a turbo wash zone, high-temperature wash, sanitize cycle and delay start. While the dishwasher should work well when operated correctly, if there is water leaking out of the bottom, some investigation is needed.
  1. Interrupted Cycle

    • Stopping a cycle in progress is normal to add dishes, etc., but interrupting the cycle must be done correctly. Open the dishwasher door just enough for the door to unlatch, and wait for the control panel lights to flash. When the water stops spraying inside the tub, open the door and add the dishes. Close the door and touch “Start/Resume” to restart the cycle. If the cycle is not restarted when interrupted, water may sit in the tub and leak out of the bottom.

    Dishwasher Not Level

    • If the dishwasher isn't level, water is more likely to leak out of the bottom during use. Level the dishwasher by changing the leveling until the dishwasher is resting evenly on all four feet. However, some dishwashers are installed in the kitchen cabinets in such a manner that the feet are not accessible. If this is the case, and you suspect the dishwasher is not level, contact Kenmore for service assistance.

    Spilled RInse Agent

    • Rinse aid detergent is recommended by Kenmore to help dry items and prevent cloudiness or spotting on glasses. However, rinse aid can create oversudsing if spilled and result in overflowing. Always wipe up any rinse aid spills with a clean, damp cloth before using the dishwasher.

    Dishwasher Detergent

    • Using the right type and amount of dishwasher detergent is important with the Kenmore dishwasher, as improper use can cause foam to build up and water to leak out from under the unit. If there is a lot of soap and water in the tub, open the dishwasher door to allow some of the foam to dissolve before pouring cold water into the dishwasher, Then select “Start/Reset” twice to initiate a drain cycle. You can also turn the control knob to the “Drain” cycle. To help prevent oversudsing and leaks, measure out dishwasher detergent, make sure it's fresh, and never use other types of soap or detergent.
