Press the buttons on the top front control pad of your dishwasher to see if they work at all. Make sure each button pressed corresponds with the LED message shown on the display.
Turn off the electrical power to your dishwasher from the kitchen circuit breaker.
Open the dishwasher door and remove the screws from the top back panel using a screwdriver.
Lift up and remove the front panel on the door to gain access to the inner part of the control panel where the touch pad circuits are located.
Check the ribbon wire connected to the keypad to see if it has any tears or rips in it.
Check for any other loose connections and look for any other damage around the control panel where the touch pad is located.
Remove the P1 connector, a large plastic connector with "P1" on it that has many other wires connected to it, from the control board and connect the wire to a digital readout meter. If the reader doesn't go from infinity down to a readable ohm number, then you should replace the entire control console.
