How to Install Bosch Dishwasher Water Valves

Turn off the electrical breaker to your dishwasher at your main breaker panel. Turn off the water supply valve under your sink.

Loosen the connector holding the Bosch dishwasher drain hose to either the drain beneath the sink or garbage disposal using a screwdriver. Pull the dishwasher drain line from the plumbing drain.

Unplug the dishwasher from the dedicated receptacle behind the dishwasher or underneath the sink. If your dishwasher is permanently wired into an electrical junction box, remove the screws holding the cover from the box, then untwist the wire connectors holding the sets of wires together inside the box.

Loosen the screw on the exterior connector holding the dishwasher power cord in the junction box. Pull the power cord from the junction box.

Remove the two screws holding the toe panel to the bottom of the dishwasher. Open the dishwasher door to remove the screws securing the dishwasher to the base cabinets.

Slide the dishwasher from the base cabinets. Unscrew the dishwasher water supply hose from the water valve connection on the back of the dishwasher. The water supply hose has a brass fitting on the end, much like a garden hose.

Remove the screws from the dishwasher that hold the back and side panels onto the dishwasher. Remove the panels and lay the dishwasher on its side, positioning the dishwasher so the supply inlet is on top.

Remove the screws holding the water valve in the dishwasher cabinet. Carefully pull the threaded inlet on the valve from the hole in the cabinet.

Pull the water hose from the water valve inside the dishwasher. Make a note of the location of the wires on the spade connectors attached to the valve, then gently pull the connectors from the original water valve.

Push the wire connectors onto the replacement Bosch dishwasher water valve. Push the interior water hose onto the valve.

Insert the threaded end of the replacement valve through the opening in the dishwasher cabinet. Attach the valve to the cabinet with the screws you removed from the original valve.

Replace the back and side panels onto the dishwasher. Connect the water supply hose to the new water valve. Reinstall the dishwasher in the base cabinets by reversing the steps used to remove it.
