How to Adjust the Latch on a KitchenAid Whisper Quiet Dishwasher

The KitchenAid Whisper Quiet dishwasher, a double-drawer appliance that reduces the amount of noise during cleaning cycles, includes a cover latch to lock the main wash detergent cover in place before a cleaning cycle. The dishwasher allows the use of prewash and main wash detergents for light to heavily soiled dishes and is adjustable for a quick rinse. A disabled cover latch prevents detergents from being dispensed into the dishwasher's load and is configurable once the load is complete.

     Hold "Pro Dry" on the front of the dishwasher's door for three seconds to disable the control lock.

     Open the dishwasher's door if a cycle is in progress and turn the cover latch to the right to disable the latch.

     Pour powdered dishwashing detergent into the main wash compartment to the fill line. Slide the main wash cover onto the detergent's compartment.

     Turn the latch to the left to lock the cover latch in place. Push "Start/Resume" on the front of the control panel.

     Close the door within four seconds of pressing the Start button to resume the cleaning cycle.
