Installing a Filler Tube in a KitchenAid Dishwasher

When you are using your KitchenAid dishwasher, the top and bottom spray arms dispense water to all your dishes. The water comes from the pump inside the bottom of the dishwasher and runs through small filler tubes that connect to the spray arms. If you notice that one or both of the filler tubes is leaking or broken, you can manually remove them and install new filler tubes.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the electrical power to the KitchenAid dishwasher from your kitchen circuit breaker.

    • 2

Open the dishwasher door and remove the upper dish rack by sliding it all the way out of the dishwasher.

    • 3

Press down on the nozzle of the filler tube from the top center spray arm.

    • 4

Turn the lowest end of the tube to the left or right, and the tube will become dislodged. Pull the tube out of the unit.

    • 5

Insert the open end of a new filler tube into the pump nozzle and turn it to the left or right.

    • 6

Slide the upper portion of the tube below the plastic knob on the back of the tub. Slide the top dish rack back into the dishwasher.

    • 7

Slide out the bottom rack to fully remove it from the dishwasher. Press down on the nozzle of the filler tube connected to the bottom center spray arm.

    • 8

Turn the bottom end of the tube to the left or right to dislodge it and pull it out of the dishwasher.

    • 9

Connect the new filler tube to the pump nozzle of the spray and turn it left or right.

    • 10

Slide the top of the tube under the plastic knob in the back of the dishwasher.

    • 11

Slide the bottom rack back into the dishwasher and close the door. Turn the electrical power back on from the circuit breaker.
