My KitchenAid Dishwasher Water Line Is Clogged & Not Filling

Turn off the water by turning the handle underneath the sink all the way to the right. You'll notice two faucets with flexible pipes attached to the main water pipe. The flexible pipe running downward and toward the dishwasher is the dishwasher line. The other pipe takes water to the sink faucet.

Turn off the electrical power at the circuit box to avoid electrical shock. The circuit box should be labeled with the breaker that powers the dishwasher. Flip it to turn off power.

Unscrew the flexible pipe from the faucet. You may be able to do this by hand. If not, use a wrench to loosen the screw and release it.

Move the dishwasher out to access the pipe at its point of entry to the dishwasher. To do this, unscrew two small screws found underneath the counter top near the dishwasher door. These screws secure the dishwasher to the counter.

Remove the kick plate gently with a pry bar and set it aside. Carefully slide the KitchenAid dishwasher out. The dishwasher sits on four small legs that level it and make removal easier.

Unscrew the water pipe from the back of the dishwasher. It won't be clogged with food because only clean water runs through it, but it may be clogged with hard water sediment or rust. These contaminants are hard to remove. The best option is to buy and install a new water pipe. Visit a local home improvement store or contact KitchenAid for parts.

Push the dishwasher back in place, and replace the kick plate and screws. Attach the water pipe to the faucet under the sink, threading it through the hole in the bottom of the cupboard. Turn the water and electricity back on.
