How to Force a Drain on a GE Dishwasher

GE dishwashers are designed for use with automatic dishwasher detergent, which ensures that your dishes are cleaned and soap suds are kept to a minimum. If you put regular dish soap in the dishwasher, the soap will flow out of the dishwasher and onto your kitchen floor. If the wrong soap is used, you need to interrupt the wash cycle and initiate the automatic drain feature of the dishwasher to evacuate the soap and water. This will prevent any additional suds from leaking out of the appliance.
