How to Clean the Recirculation Hose on a Bosch Dishwasher

Bosch manufactures a wide range of dishwashers for home use. Dishwashers provide much-needed convenience to busy families and individuals, but sometimes they require a little extra maintenance. If the dishes consistently rinse poorly, consider cleaning the recirculation hose, which carries the rinse water into the dishwasher. Food debris and other buildup can clog the recirculation hose and cause poor performance.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Shallow pan
  • Garden hose

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the dishwasher's power supply, and close the water supply valve.

    • 2

Locate the kick plate at the bottom front of the dishwasher. Remove the screws and lift the kick plate from the dishwasher, avoiding any sharp edges.

    • 3

Locate the recirculation hose connected to the pump. The recirculation hose runs back into the dishwasher, and the drain hose runs from the pump to the sink or disposal.

    • 4

Place a shallow pan under the pump end of the hose to catch any excess water. Loosen the clamp on the recirculation hose with a screwdriver. Grip the clamp with a pair of pliers, then slide it up the hose to release. Repeat this process to disconnect the other end of the hose.

    • 5

Take the recirculation hose outside. Run water from your garden hose through the recirculation hose for one or two minutes to clear out any debris. Hold the hose upright to drain out any excess water.

    • 6

Replace the recirculation hose and clamps. Tighten the clamps fully to prevent leaks or disconnection.

    • 7

Replace the kick plate and screws. Open the water valve and restore power to dishwasher.
