Fixing the Leaking Water in the KitchenAid Superba

The KitchenAid Superba dishwasher line features PowerScrub, which provides 36 high-burst sprays simultaneously to eliminate food residue, and includes four wash arms to thoroughly and evenly wash all contents of the dishwasher. A leak may be caused by an excessive amount of rinse aid or detergent, which overflows in the dishwasher and spills out during while the load washes. Improper installation of your dishwasher can also affect the appliance's performance, as the dishwasher requires a leveled surface to ensure washing without spillage.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the dishwasher's door and turn the detergent's cover latch counterclockwise to open the detergent compartment.

    • 2

Replace your current dishwasher detergent to reduce excessive soap production while running a wash cycle. Liquid hand dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent or hand soap are unacceptable detergents for the dishwasher and cause leaks if poured in the main wash compartment.

    • 3

Check the amount of detergent in the main wash compartment. Soft water requires no more than half of the detergent cup filled with powder or liquid dishwasher detergent, whereas hard water requires a completely filled compartment.

    • 4

Turn the rinse aid's adjustment knob clockwise to a lower setting to reduce the amount of rinse aid released into the load during a cycle. The rinse aid indicator near the rinse aid compartment displays the total amount of solution in the appliance. Turn the rinse aid's cycle knob clockwise to lock the compartment's cover in place.

    • 5

Raise or lower the dishwasher's legs with an adjustable wrench. The adjustable wrench turns the nut on the dishwasher's leg clockwise or counterclockwise to lower or raise the leg, respectively.

    • 6

Pull out the dishwasher and tighten the coupling attached to the water supply line. The coupling connects the water supply line to the dishwasher and causes water leaks if the coupling is loose. Turn the coupling counterclockwise until it stops moving to secure it, and push the dishwasher back into place.
