Turn off the electric power to your GE profile dishwasher from your kitchen circuit breaker.
Open the dishwasher door all the way. Locate the soap dispenser door on the inside of the door.
Lift up the soap dispenser door to make sure it isn't loose or broken. Pull the door upward to unsnap it out of place and replace the dispenser door part with a new part, if necessary.
Remove the four hex heads measuring 1/4-inch from the bottom toe panel using a hex wrench.
Remove the screws from the bottom of the outer door panel using a Phillips screwdriver.
Slide the outer panel down and grasp the bottom of the panel. Lift the outer panel toward yourself to remove it from the dishwasher door.
Locate the soap dispenser on the middle right side of the door. Make sure the trip lever and spring are fully connected next to the dispenser.
Unhook the spring connected to the trip lever. Replace the spring part if it is broken.
Insert a 1/4-inch socket wrench onto the lever's shaft and turn it counterclockwise to remove the lever if it is broken and needs to be replaced.
Remove the mounting screws from the soap dispenser. Lift it out of the dishwasher door.
Replace the dispenser with a new part if there are cracks or other damage that can't be manually repaired.
Reinsert the mounting screws to the soap dispenser. Slide the outer panel back onto the door.
Reinsert the bottom screws into the outer panel. Place the bottom toe panel back on and reinsert all four hex head screws. Turn the electrical power back on from the circuit breaker.
