Mounting Dishwashers to Corian Counters

Dishwashers are a valuable appliance in any kitchen. They typically install underneath counters, including those made of DuPont’s Corian, to save space in the kitchen. Once the pipes and wiring are connected, the dishwasher mounts to the underside of the counter to hold it firmly in place and to prevent tipping. Mounting a dishwasher to Corian is just like mounting it to any other counter surface and requires only basic woodworking tools.

Instructions

    • 1

Push the dishwasher back into the opening under the Corian counter until the front edge of the appliance no longer protrudes from the front of the counter.

    • 2

Open the dishwasher door and kneel down beside it. Look at the bottom of the appliance, which is typically covered by an access panel. Remove the access panel if it is still in place. Twist the two adjusting feet to raise the height of the dishwasher up until the top of the appliance touches the underside of the Corian counter. If the dishwasher already touches the underside of the counter, no further adjustment is required.

    • 3

Hold a level up to the top of the dishwasher to ensure it is perfectly level. If necessary, lower or raise the feet until the air bubble is in the center of the level.

    • 4

Look at the top of the dishwasher, where the lock typically engages. You will see two screw holes -- one on the left and one on the right side of the dishwasher. The two hole brackets should touch the underside of the Corian counter.

    • 5

Insert the provided screws through each of the screw holes and insert them fully by turning them clockwise with a power drill.

    • 6

Close the door to the dishwasher until it locks into place and proceed with turning on the water and electricity or reinstalling the lower cover plate.
