My Kitchen Aid Dishwasher Stopped Mid Cycle

KitchenAid dishwashers aren't cheap. So if you've got one, you'll probably want to make sure you're taking as good care of it as you can. Any mid-cycle stoppage you experience will probably be due to how your machine is set up or loaded as opposed to a breakdown. You can run through a few troubleshooting steps before you think about calling in a repair technician.
  1. Power

    • Check that your dishwasher is properly connected to its power supply and that it hasn't tripped your circuit breaker or blown a fuse.

    Cycle Pause

    • Your KitchenAid dishwasher will pause at multiple points during its cycle and may appear to have stopped completely during the drying process. If the "Start/resume" indicator is lit, your washer is running. If the indicator is blinking, it's likely that your machine's door has been opened during the cycle. Make sure your dishwasher's door is closed and press the "Start/resume" button to continue your wash.

    Loading

    • Overloading your dishwasher can cause it to stop mid-cycle. If pots and pans are obstructing the wash system at the back of your machine, it might not run. Rearrange your dirty dishes to make sure they are properly stacked. You should also make sure there is no pressure on your dishwasher's door. If your door's latch is obstructed or pops open during your machine's cycle, your dishwasher will stop running.

    Connections and Blockages

    • Make sure the water inlet pipes at the back of your machine are properly connected and receive an adequate supply of water. You should also make sure your machine's drainage pipe is not blocked and that waste water can escape.
