How to Replace the Light in an Asko D1996 Dishwasher

      Open the dishwasher and remove any dishes from the wash racks. Slide the dish racks from the dishwasher, lifting up on the front to free them from the track. Set the racks aside.

      Locate the plastic cover on the roof of the dishwasher. Fit a flat head screwdriver into the side of the plastic cover and pop it off. Inside this cover is another small plastic cover with a hinge. Place the flat head screwdriver in the side of the cover opposite the hinge and pop open.

      Unscrew the bulb from the dishwasher, turning counterclockwise. Insert a new bulb into the socket and turn clockwise to install the bulb.

      Replace the inside cover, pushing it closed until it snaps locked. Hold the outside cover over the cavity and pop into place, running your hand along the edge of the cover to ensure it is secure on all sides.

      Reinstall the dish racks, sliding them down the track and into place.
