How to Fix the Center Wash Arm Assembly on My Frigidaire Dishwasher

Removing the Frigidaire dishwasher’s lower dish rack obtains access to the center wash arm and its assembly. Different dishwasher models have different fittings. Ascertain if your dishwasher has a spray tower attached to the wash arm. If a spray tower is present, twist it off by turning it counterclockwise to remove it from its thread and place it on a worktop.

Examine the wash arm’s center. If there is a bolt, remove it by turning it counterclockwise with a wrench if needed. Lift the wash arm free of its housing. If there is no bolt, pull the wash arm upwards until it comes free. Place the bolt and wash arm on the worktop alongside the spray tower. Place the wash arm's washers beside it.

Examine the wash arm and spray tower for build up of lime scale or debris around the spray holes. Soak in hot, soapy water, and then rinse them under running hot water. The hot, soapy water loosens grime attached to them and the running hot water washes it away. This deals with any narrowing of the spray holes that reduces the wash’s efficiency.

Place the wash arm and its washers back into position, making sure it sits securely in its housing. If it is held in situ by a bolt, twist the bolt clockwise securely into place. Reattach the spray tower by turning it clockwise on its thread, ensuring it is securely in place. Slide the lower dish rack back into the dishwasher.
