How to Use a Hand-Held Shower Massager

A handheld shower massager, or detachable shower head, features varying settings for water pressure that give you a hydro massage during your shower. Knowing how to use one of these shower massagers will allow you to pamper your skin and muscles while bathing, in addition to thoroughly clean every part of your body.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn on your shower, adjusting it to the desired temperature. If the hand-held shower massager has its own switch, turn it on as well to let the water flow through it. This allows enough time for the water to warm to the desired temperature.

    • 2

Adjust the hand-held shower massager to a wide spray setting. This allows you to soap up and wash off.

    • 3

Adjust the shower to the throb, or pulse, setting. This setting narrows the width of the stream that flows from the shower head. It also delivers the water with forceful bursts of air, giving you a rapid, pulsating massage.

    • 4

Hold the hand-held shower massager in one hand and aim the pulsating spray of water 3 to 6 inches from the surface of your skin.

    • 5

Move your hand in circular motions, delivering a variance of sensations with the massager. Do this around different parts of your body, where you can reach with the shower massager.
