      Clean the upholstered furniture of any dust or debris. Use an upholstery shampoo as needed.

      Place a large stencil in the center of the upholstered furniture piece, such as the seat of a chair or the back part of a couch.

      Fill in the stencil on the upholstery with fabric paint and a paintbrush.
