How to Use the Hampton Bay Model #AC-5520D

Hampton Bay ceiling fans are sold exclusively at Home Depot home improvement stores. The AC-5520D model is a paddle fan, with five blades. Like any other ceiling fan, the Hampton Bay AC-5520D has a variety of speeds and can be run counterclockwise to help warm a room. Though the Hampton Bay AC-5520D is no longer in production, it functions as other ceiling fans produced by Hampton Bay.

Instructions

Manipulate the fan speed control switch by pulling the chain once to turn the Hampton Bay AC-5520D to the highest speed setting. Pull the chain twice to turn the Hampton Bay to the medium speed setting. Pull the chain three times to set the fan to the lowest setting.

Use the AC-5520 D in the winter. Turn the Hampton Bay ceiling fan off by pulling the chain four times. Wait for the paddle blades to come to a complete stop. Turn the blade directional switch to the counterclockwise setting. Pull the chain two times to set the fan on the medium speed setting. This circulates warmer air down, reducing your heating usage.

Periodically clean the Hampton Bay AC-5520D. Though the internal gears are greased and do not need to be oiled, the fan blades collect dust. This creates an allergy-inducing effect as the blades turn while the fan is in operation. Dust particles are spun off the blades into the air. Turn the AC-5520D off and wipe the blades down with a ceiling fan duster or hand-held duster.
