Turn off power to the breaker that controls the room where you plan to install the Hampton Bay AC 525 ceiling fan.
Remove the existing light fixture from the ceiling. To do this, remove the cover and bulb from the fixture. Remove the screws that hold the fixture onto the ceiling and pull the fixture away from the ceiling. Remove the wire nuts that hold the wires together and discard the old fixture.
Remove the screws that secure the old electrical box to the truss above the ceiling and discard the old box.
Slide the wires extending from the circuit through the strain relief on the new ceiling fan electrical box and tighten the screw to lock the wires in place.
Secure the new electrical box to the truss inside the ceiling with 2-inch wood screws.
Attach the blades to the brackets on the fan motor. To do this, place the screws through the holes in the blades and through the holes in the brackets. Tighten the retaining nuts onto the screws with a wrench.
Mount the ceiling fan bracket for the Hampton Bay fan to the electrical box with the machine screws supplied with the fan.
Place the ball on the motor shaft onto the ceiling fan bracket. The ball holds the fan onto the bracket.
Attach the black and blue wire extending from the ceiling fan to the black wires extending from the ceiling and thread a wire nut onto the connection. Attach the white wires together with a wire nut and attach the green wire to the grounding screw on the electrical box.
Slide the electrical box cover up the motor shaft and tighten the setscrew on the cover to lock it against the shaft.
Install a light bulb into the light fixture and install the light cover. Turn on the electrical outlet to restore power to the circuit.
