How to Install a Craftsman Lock for a Toolbox

Craftsman toolboxes are sturdy toolboxes made by Sears. If you're into home improvement, you'll enjoy the amount of space inside the box and how easy the box is to carry. Craftsman toolboxes usually come with a lock so that you don't lose your tools to theft; however, if the lock is defective or for some reason your toolbox didn't come with a lock, you can order a new one from Sears and install it yourself.

     Purchase the lock for your model toolbox from Sears. You can find your model number on the sticker on the bottom of your toolbox.

     Empty the toolbox and remove the cabinets.

     Remove the old lock if there is one. Drill out the rivets to free the lock and remove it.

     Place your lock where you want it. Use your drill to screw the lock to the toolbox. Put washers on the back of each screw, and tighten them to secure the screws.
