How to Fix a Tub Seal on a Frigidaire Stackable Washer Dryer

Frigidaire stackable washing machines and automatic dryers are set up in stacked units known as laundry centers. The tub seal on the washing machine keeps the front of the tub and the door tightly sealed to prevent water from leaking during a wash cycle. A defective tub seal prevents the washer from operating properly. Remove the faulty tub seal and replace it with a new one to repair your Frigidaire laundry center washer.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the washer power cord. Turn off the water faucets connected to the washer.

    • 2

Open the washer door. Wedge the wood block between the front panel and the base of the tub to keep the tub out of the way.

    • 3

Insert the flat-blade screwdriver under the bottom of the tub seal. Pry the wire spring clamp off the tub seal with the screwdriver.

    • 4

Peel the front of the tub seal off the door frame. Fold the seal into the tub.

    • 5

Unscrew the wire clamp in the upper left corner of the tub seal. Pull the clamp off the tub seal.

    • 6

Pull the top of the tub seal down to disconnect it from the washer tub. Pull the bottom of the seal forward to fully remove it from the tub.

    • 7

Place the new tub seal onto the front of the tub. Position the seal so the arrow on the tub seal points straight up.

    • 8

Replace the wire clamp. Tighten the clamp screw in the upper left corner.

    • 9

Work the front of the tub seal over the door frame lip. Replace the wire spring clamp onto the tub seal.

    • 10

Remove the wood block from the cabinet. Close the washer door.
