How to Replace the Washer Tub in a Kenmore 110.45872400

The Kenmore Elite model 110.45872400 is a front-loading automatic washer manufactured for residential or industrial use. The washer tub is mounted inside the cabinet behind the door. If the tub is defective or damaged, the washing machine may not function properly. The washer cabinet must be disassembled to access the tub. Replace the faulty washer tub with a new part to restore the washing machine to proper working condition.

Instructions

    • 1

      Unplug the power cord. Turn off the hot and cold water faucets connected to the washing machine.

      Remove the three screws along the back of the top cover. Lift off the top cover.

      Unplug the electrical cable from the back of the control panel. Slide out the detergent dispenser drawer. Press the release tab in the back of the drawer to disconnect it. Remove the drawer.

      Remove the screw next to the detergent drawer opening. Lift the control console up and away from the washer to remove it.

      Unplug the door switch electrical connector from its socket. Remove the two screws at the base of the toe panel. Lift the panel off the cabinet.

      Remove the four screws holding the upper front panel in place. Lift the panel away from the washer.

      Remove the six screws holding the metal frame in place in the upper front area of the cabinet. Lift the metal frame off the cabinet.

      Remove the screws holding the rear access panel in place. Lift the panel off.

      Remove the two screws holding the metal brace in place in the upper rear area of the cabinet. Lift the brace off the cabinet.

      Lift the washer tub out through the front of the cabinet.

      Position the new washer tub inside the Kenmore washer cabinet. Reverse the disassembly steps to put the washing machine back together.
