Remove the circular top cover of the water softening system and lift the nozzle and venturi housing from the system. The nozzle and venturi housing is a hollow, circular piece of plastic that has a vertical tube in the middle of the circle.
Lift the cap off the nozzle, and carefully pull out the screen support and wire screen from the nozzle housing. The screen support is a plastic case that fits around the screen to secure it to the nozzle housing.
Pull out the nozzle and the venturi, which is a circular-shaped piece of plastic connected to the nozzle.
Wash and rinse the nozzle, venturi and cap under warm running water to clear off deposit buildup. A cleaning brush can be used to eliminate tough iron buildup.
Dampen a cleaning cloth with warm water, and wipe the gasket located underneath the nozzle and venturi. The gasket is a flat, circular plastic piece that connects to the bottom of the nozzle and venturi.
Insert the venturi and nozzle, screen and screen support back onto the nozzle housing.
Lubricate the thin, plastic o-ring located on top of the screen support with a thin layer of silicone grease, and turn the cap clockwise on the nozzle housing to secure it to the water softener system.
