Move the range away from the wall, then unplug the power cord from the wall outlet. Shut off the gas valve by turning the handle clockwise until tight.
Lift the burner grates off the stove top and set them aside.
Remove each burner from the stove top using a sealed burner wrench, which you can order from Maytag. Align the burner with the markings on the wrench, then twist the wrench clockwise approximately 1 1/2 inches. Lift the burners up and out of the range.
Remove the wires from the terminals on the ignitors, using needle-nose pliers. Set the burners aside.
Remove the screw beside each burner hole, using a Phillips screwdriver.
Insert a putty knife in the gap above the control panel, below the main top, approximately 4 1/2 inches from the right side of the top. Press inward to release the clip securing the main top to the range. Repeat on the other side of the range.
Lift the main top up and off the range. Set it in a safe location.
Remove the three screws securing the panel on the right side of the range. Remove the panel.
Remove the screws securing the spark module to the bracket. Move the old spark module out of the way.
Install the new spark module onto the bracket, securing it with the screws that you removed.
Transfer the wires one at a time from the old spark module to the new spark module.
Reassemble the range by reversing the steps taken to disassemble it.
Restore the range's gas and power supply. Move the range back into position.
