How to Change a Four-Prong Stove

Electric stoves operate on 220-volt AC power, which is supplied to the stove via special outlets. There are several different outlet designs in use, of which the most common is an outlet that accepts a four-prong plug connected to the stove. If the plug on your stove is damaged or the power cord is frayed, the plug and cord should be replaced. You can do this job yourself in just a few minutes with only a screwdriver and a replacement power cord.

Move the stove out from the wall. Unplug the cord and plug from the wall outlet.
