Unplug the stove's electrical cord or turn off the circuit breaker associated with the stove.
Locate the lip of the stove top in front of the unit and place your fingers under it. Lift up on the top to put it into the service mode.
Identify the electronic ignitor -- a cylindrical device about the size of a roll of quarters. The device sits next to the pilot light.
Turn the two screws that secure the ignitor to its bracket counterclockwise with a Phillips head screwdriver to remove them.
Detach the wiring clip from the ignitor by grasping it between your thumb and forefinger and pressing the sides in slightly. Pull out the clip from the ignitor. Dispose of the old ignitor.
Push the wiring clip into the new ignitor until you feel it snap into place. Attach the ignitor to its bracket with the screws.
Lower the stove top and restore electrical service to the stove.
