My Bissell ProHeat Model 7901 Has No Suction

• One common reason that the machine might not be sucking up the cleaning solution and water is that you have not put it together properly. If the water and cleaning solution tank is not sealed tightly, the machine will not have suction. If the lid is not firmly attached, the pressure will not be enough to support the suction. Loss of suction might also indicate that the nozzle window is not attached properly.

Improper Use

• Using the entire machine to remove water and cleaning solution simply requires releasing the trigger and pulling the machine back over the carpet. Using the hand tools to remove moisture is more complicated, and you might experience a loss of suction if you don't use hand tools properly. Adjust the angle, and apply more downward pressure to enhance suction.

Tank Is Full

• The Bissell ProHeat has a tank-in-tank operation, which means that the clean water tank is set next to the dirty water tank in the same apparatus. When the dirty tank gets full of dirty water and cleaning solution, it will no longer have suction. Remedy this by removing the tank and throwing away the dirty water. You can dispose of the water in your sink.

• If troubleshooting the issue was not enough to fix the lack of suction, you might have to contact a professional to determine the issue. Attempting to fix the issue by opening the machine will void the warranty.
