How to Check Your Drive Motor in a Whirlpool Duet Sport Dryer

The Whirlpool Duet Sport is a front-loading automatic dryer that is equipped with a drive motor that powers the drum. The motor connects to a pair of pulleys and a belt that wraps around the drum.      Disconnect the Whirlpool Duet Sport dryer power cord from the electrical outlet.

     Remove the three screws along the bottom of the front toe panel.

   • 3

     Lift the toe panel up and away from the dryer to remove it.

   • 4

     Slide the belt off of the motor shaft.

   • 5

     Rotate the motor shaft by hand. If the shaft does not easily rotate, you may need to replace the motor.

   • 6

     Reverse the previous steps to reassemble the Whirlpool Duet Sport dryer.
