How to Troubleshoot Hoover T-Series WindTunnels

The Hoover T-Series Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner line includes two models: a bagged model and a bagless model. Both models include various tools and HEPA filtration systems. Troubleshooting the T-Series Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaners can be done with no training or tools. If you cannot fix the problem yourself, contact a qualified vacuum repairman to repair the problem.

Instructions

  1. Operation Problems

    • 1

Check that the power cord for the vacuum is firmly plugged into a wall outlet. Place the plug in the outlet firmly if necessary.

    • 2

Check that the fuse or breaker, located in the main electrical box of your home, is operational if the plug is firmly in the outlet. Replace the fuse or breaker if necessary by removing the fuse or breaker and replacing it with a new one.

    • 3

Unplug the vacuum and allow it to cool for 30 minutes. The Thermal Protector will not allow the vacuum to operate if the vacuum is too hot.

    • 4

Check the carpet height setting if the vacuum is hard to push. A low setting on tall carpet will make the vacuum difficult to push. Change the setting if necessary.

    Brushroll Problems

    • 5

Use light pressure when using the brushroll tool. Hard pressure will cause the brushroll to stop spinning and the tool will not work.

    • 6

Check the brushroll tool and hose for blockage and remove if necessary if the tool will not pick up debris or is emitting a smoky smell.

    • 7

Check the brushroll belt if you smell a smoky or burning odor. Replace the belt if necessary by removing the worn or broken belt and placing a new belt on the parts you removed the old belt from.

    Suction Problems

    • 8

Clean a rinsable HEPA filter or replace a normal filter if the vacuum will not pick up debris or dust is escaping from the vacuum.

    • 9

Check the level in the dirt cup and empty it if the vacuum will not pick up debris. Replace the dirt cup correctly or the vacuum will still not have enough suction.

    • 10

Check that the hose has been installed correctly. Incorrect installation of the hose will cause the vacuum to lose suction or leak dirt.

    • 11

Check the Suction Mode Only indicator located on the bottom left side of the vacuum cleaner. "Suction Mode Only" turns the vacuum suction on but will not allow the brushroll to turn. Turn it off if the brushroll is not turning and you want it to turn.
