How to Change the Baking Element in a Dacor W350 Oven

The Dacor W350 has been discontinued by the manufacturer. Like other Dacor oven models, the W350 uses an electrical heating element for baking. The element plugs into a pair of power sockets near the bottom of the oven. A separate element for broiling is installed near the top. If the baking element burns out in your Dacor, remove the defective part and take it to an appliance repair shop to match it with the correct replacement. Installing the new element takes less than 15 minutes.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut off the circuit breaker switch that controls electricity to the Dacor.

    • 2

Open and lower the oven door. Pull out the two stainless steel baking racks from inside the oven.

    • 3

Extract the screws in the back wall of the Dacor where the baking element attaches to the oven. The screws fit within a metal plate surrounding the two element terminals.

    • 4

Pull the baking element straight back to unplug the part from the power sockets.

    • 5

Line up the terminals on the new element with the sockets inside the Dacor. Push into place until the metal plate on the end of the element rests against the back wall of the Dacor.

    • 6

Secure the new element by tightening the screws in the metal plate.

    • 7

Reinsert the baking racks and close the Dacor door. Restore power to the oven by switching the circuit breaker on.
