How to Fix F1 Errors on Frigidaire Gas Ovens

There are a variety of error codes that a Frigidaire gas range may display, however the F1 error code is the most common. Usually when the range displays an F1 error code, the oven will not operate, even though the range top may still function. Resolving an F1 error code on a Frigidaire gas oven involves a multi-step procedure that is implemented without the use of any tools and requires a minimal amount of time and effort.

Instructions

    • 1

Discontinue the electrical power to the range by unplugging the electrical cord or shutting off the circuit breaker associated with the Frigidaire range. Leave the power off for at least 30 seconds and then restore it. If the error is not cleared continue to step two.

    • 2

Access the rear of the range and locate the flat ribbon connector that connects the electronic range console to the main oven unit.

    • 3

Disconnect the ribbon connector from the electronic range console by pulling out of its slot and leave it disconnected for 30 minutes. The code may be the result of an electronic condition called a checksum error and can be cleared by disconnecting it. Reconnect the ribbon connector, ensuring it is securely inserted into the slot.

Call a professional appliance service technician if the code still appears after implementing the preceding steps. The code may be a result of a more serious problem that can be a danger and may cause damage.
