Unplug the power cord. Slide the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer away from the wall so you can get to the back.
Remove the screws holding the rear access panel in place. Lift the access panel off.
Remove the screw at the top of the heating element assembly. The heating element assembly is a rectangular metal enclosure toward the right side of the cabinet.
Unplug the wires from the heating element with the needle-nose pliers.
Remove the heating element assembly out of the Whirlpool Cabrio dryer cabinet.
Remove the retaining screw at the base of the assembly. Slide the heating element out.
Insert the new heating element into the assembly. Install the retaining screw to hold the element in place.
Position the heating element assembly into the dryer cabinet. Install the screw that holds it to the cabinet. Plug the wires into their sockets.
Replace the rear access panel. Install the screws that hold it in place.
