How to Repair a Broken-Off GE Stove Knob

Burner control knobs for GE stoves allow you to adjust the temperature of the burners and the oven. Occasionally, a knob may break and require replacement. Once you have purchased your replacement knob, the repair is quick and usually does not require any tools.

      Ensure the knob’s dial is positioned as “Off.”

      Grasp the knob with your hand and pull forward to pop the knob off. If the knob does not come off with ease, slip a rubber band under it and pull forward again to remove it.

      Line the new knob up to the post on the switch, with the dial in the “Off” position.

      Slide the knob over the post on the switch and push it down onto the post until it clicks into place.
