Put on a pair of leather gloves before you begin work to prevent accidental cuts. Unplug the power cord for the Kenmore oven, or turn off the breaker at the breaker box if the oven is hard-wired into the electrical circuit. Remove any loose glass fragments before you take the oven door apart.
Push the hinge locks down on the inside of the oven door, using a flat-tip screwdriver to assist. Pull the door away from the hinges by pulling up as if you were going to close the door. Place the blanket on the floor and lay the oven door on it. Remove the door handle with a Phillips screwdriver.
Remove the screws from along the bottom edge of the oven door with the Phillips screwdriver. Lift the inner panel of the oven out of the outer door frame. Remove the hinge screws with the Phillips screwdriver and then flip the oven door over. Remove the screws from the retaining panel using the Phillips screwdriver and then lift if off the door.
Clean any glass fragments out from under the retaining panel. Insert the new sheet of glass into the place of the broken one. Place the retaining panel in place on the door frame and install the retaining screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Be careful not to over-tighten the screws or you may crack the new glass.
Turn the oven door back over on the blanket and install the door hinges with a Phillips screwdriver. Insert the inner panel into the outer fame and install the retaining screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Install the door handle and tighten the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Align the door with the hinge locks and slid the door into place on the oven.
Flip the hinge locks up into place with the flat-tip screwdriver. Restore the power to the oven by plugging in the power cord or turning on the breaker.
