How to Install a Becker KVT 314 Vane

The Becker KVT 314 is a vacuum pump used with air conditioning systems. If you have moisture in your AC unit, you can use this vacuum pump to remove it. When moisture is inside an air conditioner, the refrigerant inside will not be able to properly cool a building or home. Removing the moisture will balance the system and get it working properly. You don’t have to be an HVAC technician to connect and use a Becker KVT 314. You can do it yourself with little hassle.

     Go to your thermostat and turn the AC unit off.

     Remove the service port cap from the high side pipe on your AC unit. The high side is the smaller pipe coming off of the compressor.

     Connect the Becker KVT 314 to the high side by screwing in the hose to the service port.

   • 4

     Turn on the Becker KVT and watch the gauge until the moisture is out of the system.

   • 5

     Disconnect the Becker KVT from the high side port and replace the service cap.

   • 6

     Turn your AC unit back on.
