Replacing a Thermostat Knob on an Amana Oven

Over time, the numbers and printed indicator on your Amana oven thermostat wear off to a point that the knob requires replacing. Sometimes the back of the knob simply wears out due to use and no longer turns the thermostat shaft. Whatever the reason, replacing a thermostat knob on an Amana oven is a straightforward process. Make sure you to order the correct knob for your model through Amana or an Amana authorized dealer.

Instructions

    • 1

Turn the Amana thermostat knob to the “Off” position. This helps rotate the shaft into a position for quick alignment when installing the new thermostat knob.

    • 2

Grab the knob in the center with your fingers. Pull the knob straight off the shaft. The end of the shaft resembles a “D” with the flat side pointing to the left.

    • 3

Align the flat side of the hole on the back of the new thermostat knob with the flat side of the shaft. Push the knob over the shaft until it stops.
