How to Install a New Rear Drum Seal on a Kenmore Elite Dryer

The rear drum seal on a Kenmore Elite automatic dryer keeps the area at the back of the drum closed tightly. It also provides support and stability for the back of the dryer drum. If the seal starts to wear out, clothing can slip through the gap at the back of the drum. The drum may not rotate as smoothly with a worn seal. Install a new seal in place of the old one to keep your Kenmore Elite dryer working properly.
