How to Remove the Front Cover of a Frigidaire Washer

Frigidaire washers are designed with removable panels on the front and back to access different internal components that may need to be repaired or replaced. This is a useful feature because the entire appliance does not need to be disassembled just to reach one part on the inside. For example, access to the transmission and drive belt is through the front of the washer, below the laundry drum. Use simple hand tools to remove the front cover.

Instructions

    • 1

Unplug the Frigidaire's power cord from the wall.

    • 2

Insert the tip of a flat-blade screwdriver into the crevice between the top of the washer and the front cover, 3 inches from the left corner. Pry up the top and pull the clip underneath. Remove the clip 3 inches in from the right corner as well.

    • 3

Lift the top of the Frigidaire gently toward the back of the appliance where it will rest in the upright position.

    • 4

Take out the screws on the left and right edges of the front cover.

    • 5

Pull downward on the cover while gripping the part on the left and the right to disengage it from the cabinet sides. Pull off the cover and set aside. You can now access the interior of the Frigidaire.
